From Complete Beginner to Confidently Playing Your First Gig - In Just 12 Sessions
The hands-on group DJ course that takes you from "I've never touched decks" to recording a professional 30-minute set. Learn alongside 2 other aspiring DJs, push each other forward, and pay less than private training.
Only 3 students per group. Limited spots available.
You've Been Dreaming About This For Too Long
You've spent years at clubs watching the DJ control the room. You've thought to yourself: "I could do that."
Maybe you've downloaded software. Watched countless YouTube tutorials. Bought a cheap controller that's now collecting dust in your closet.
But here's what's really happening:
- You're overwhelmed by all the conflicting information online
- You're afraid of looking stupid in front of people who actually know what they're doing
- You have no idea what equipment to buy or where to even start
- You're worried you don't have the "ear" for it — that maybe you're just not musical enough
- You've been stuck in tutorial hell for months (or years) without real progress
Meanwhile, people with half your taste in music are getting booked for gigs.
It's not because they're more talented. It's because they had someone show them the path.
What If You Could Skip Years of Frustration - And Make Friends Doing It?
Imagine walking into any club in Miami, looking at the DJ booth, and knowing exactly what every button, knob, and fader does.
Imagine having a USB stick in your pocket with a perfectly organized music library - ready to play a seamless 2-hour set at a moment's notice.
Imagine the confidence of knowing you can read any crowd and keep them dancing.
Now imagine having two other people who went through the same journey with you. Who get it. Who you can call when you land your first gig.
That's not a fantasy. That's what our students walk away with after 12 sessions.
Introducing the Group Basic Course at Miami DJ Academy
This isn't another online course you'll never finish. This is 12 hours of hands-on training on the same professional Pioneer equipment you'll find in every major club.
And you won't do it alone.
You'll learn alongside 2 other students — small enough that you get real attention, big enough that you push each other, learn from each other's mistakes, and build connections that last beyond the course.
Here's what makes this different:
✓ Tiny groups — just 3 students — You're not lost in a crowd. You're part of a crew.
✓ Train on club-standard equipment — CDJ-3000s and DJM-900NXS2 (not bedroom controllers)
✓ Learn by doing — You're behind the decks from session one, not watching someone else
✓ 12 full hours — More time to practice, ask questions, and master techniques
✓ Built-in accountability — Your groupmates keep you showing up and pushing forward
✓ More affordable — Premium training at a fraction of private lesson prices
✓ Located in Miami — The electronic music capital of the US
✓ Walk away with proof — You'll record a professional 30-minute set as your "calling card"
WHY LEARN IN A GROUP?
The Hidden Advantage of Learning Together
Some people think 1-on-1 is always better. Here's what they're missing:
You learn from other people's mistakes. When your groupmate messes up a transition, you see exactly what went wrong — without the pressure of being the one who did it. You'll absorb twice as many lessons in the same amount of time.
Healthy competition pushes you harder. When someone in your group nails a technique, you want to nail it too. That energy is contagious. It makes everyone level up faster.
You build your first DJ network. The people in your group become your people. They're the ones who'll share gig opportunities, give you honest feedback, and hype you up when you need it.
It's more fun. Let's be honest — learning is better when you're not doing it alone. The laughs, the shared frustrations, the collective wins. It makes the whole experience memorable.
Your 12-Session Transformation
SESSION 1: Hearing Music Like a DJ Learn the fundamentals of music theory and song structure that every DJ needs. You'll understand why some transitions sound flawless and others make people cringe. By the end, you'll be counting beats and identifying song sections automatically.
SESSION 2: Inside the DJ Booth Get hands-on with a professional club-standard setup. Learn what every button, knob, and fader does on CDJ-3000s and the DJM-900NXS2 mixer. Walk away knowing your way around any DJ booth in Miami.
SESSION 3: Your First Seamless Transition Master the art of beatmatching by ear. Learn how to use headphone cueing like a pro. Execute your first clean transition that actually sounds good.
SESSION 4: The Art of EQ Mixing Discover how to use EQs to blend two tracks so smoothly the crowd doesn't notice the switch. This is the technique that separates amateurs from professionals.
SESSION 5: Adding Polish With Effects Introduction to DJ effects — reverb, echo, filters. Learn how to use them tastefully (not like a kid with a new toy). Understand when effects enhance and when they distract.
SESSION 6: Effects and Filters Masterclass Go deeper into effects and color filters. Practice combining multiple techniques for transitions that sound polished and intentional.
SESSION 7: Building Your Music Arsenal Learn exactly where professional DJs find their tracks. Discover reliable download sources. Understand how to evaluate tracks for mixability before you buy them.
SESSION 8: Harmonic Mixing Secrets Learn the Camelot system and Mixed-In-Key software. Understand why some tracks sound magical together and others clash. This knowledge alone will make your mixes sound 10x more professional.
SESSION 9: Mastering Rekordbox Get fully comfortable with Pioneer Rekordbox — the software running in 90% of professional DJ booths. Set up your library, organize your tracks, and learn the USB workflow that clubs expect.
SESSION 10: Advanced Techniques Loops, hot cues, and creative transitions. Learn how to use these tools to add your signature style and recover smoothly when things don't go as planned.
SESSION 11: Reading the Room The most important skill no one teaches: how to read a crowd and adapt in real-time. Learn how to build energy, when to pull back, and how to construct sets for different types of events. Plus: master back-to-back DJ sessions with your groupmates.
SESSION 12: Your Graduation Set Record a professional 30-minute mix showcasing everything you've mastered. Walk away with a tangible asset you can send to promoters, post on social media, or use to land your first gig. Plus: insider knowledge on DJ etiquette, building your career, social media strategy, and how booking agencies actually work.
HOW IT WORKS
Simple. Flexible. Built Around Real Life.
1. Reserve your spot Secure your place in an upcoming group. You'll receive confirmation and meet your groupmates before the first session.
2. Pick your schedule Groups meet at pre-scheduled times that work for everyone. We offer daytime, evening, and weekend options. Choose the track that fits your life.
3. Show up and learn Every session builds on the last. You'll rotate through the equipment so everyone gets equal hands-on time. Your instructor guides all three of you through each technique.
4. Practice between sessions You'll get homework — tracks to analyze, playlists to build, techniques to review. The students who do the work progress fastest.
5. Graduate together In your final session, each of you records your own 30-minute set. You'll leave with proof of your skills and two new friends who understand exactly what you've accomplished.

Your Future Self Is Waiting Behind Those Decks
A year from now, you'll either still be watching DJs and thinking "I could do that"...
Or you'll BE the one behind the decks - with two friends who took the leap with you.
The only difference is whether you take action today.

Very nice mix of total beginners and students who have some idea about music production!
Totally recommend!
