This 7-hour course, divided into 7 one-hour lessons, is designed for experienced DJs who are ready to take their skills to the next level. Get ready to dive deep into advanced techniques, creative workflows, and professional-grade performance methods. You’ll work extensively on your music library, preparing tracks for live sets using Rekordbox. Expect to do a lot of homework as this program is highly focused on practical applications and live performance readiness. Each lesson builds on the last, pushing you to develop your skills and creativity to deliver exceptional live DJ sets. Additionally, you’ll learn to work with three CDJs simultaneously, mastering complex transitions and multi-track mixing.
Lesson #1. Mastering Loops on 3 CDJs 3000
- Creating Seamless Transitions: Use loops to extend intros/outros for smoother blends or create live mashups with drum loops and acapellas.
- Building Tension and Release: Shorten loop lengths and add effects like reverb to build anticipation before a big drop.
- Recovering Mistakes: Use loops to recalibrate quickly and keep your set on track.
- Improvisational Creativity: Loop unexpected elements like vocal hooks or melodies and combine them with RMX-1000 effects for live improvisation.
